Brillerij SC's Hubert Waterman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gert Ewald in the 3rd minute of play. Gert Ewald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Hubert Waterman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brillerij SC's Johan Schenning pulled a muscle in his back after 12 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Gratem HC's Roderick Carel got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute, Wilco Oosterhof hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steven de Vries might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilco Smeekes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steven de Vries ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilco Smeekes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steven de Vries in the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Brillerij SC's Steven de Vries sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilco Smeekes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Steven de Vries struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Wilco Smeekes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brillerij SC. Franck Stam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilco Smeekes having to interfere. A hard shot 29 in the game by Harald Halen from a close distance when the talented Hubert Waterman managed to make a qualified save. Brillerij SC's players were relieved. Wilco Smeekes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Steven de Vries went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Steven de Vries made a kick off. A collision led to Brillerij SC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Egbert de Zwart hit a great ball. In the 53rdth minute of the game Harald Halen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brillerij SC's Hubert Waterman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Gratem HC's Pascal Gierman got a free kick in the 54th minute. If Steven de Vries had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brillerij SC's goalkeeper Hubert Waterman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hubert Waterman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gert Ewald went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Gratem HC's Wilco Smeekes got control of the ball when Steven de Vries tried to sneak it across the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Brillerij SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gert Ewald came free, but Hubert Waterman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
