The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arie Oosterveld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Steve Molnar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Holijsloot FC's Arie Oosterveld got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martien Knops sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Blenkert HC's goal looked a bit too open when Martien Knops came free, but Steve Molnar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martien Knops in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steve Molnar saved Blenkert HC from getting behind. In the 19th minute, Lucien Wilson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arie Oosterveld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Holijsloot FC's Klaas Hofman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Holijsloot FC from getting a goal against them. It was Ferdinant Mussies who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Holijsloot FC's corner Ferdinant Mussies fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Steve Molnar quite easily take care of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Blenkert HC's Steve Molnar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martien Knops in the 63rd minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Dirk-Jan van Dijk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Holijsloot FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blenkert HC the free kick. In the 67th minute, one of Holijsloot FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Holijsloot FC. The audience was convinced that Gert Jan Franssen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Klaas Hofman was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Jan Sanders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gert Jan Franssen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jan Sanders managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blenkert HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Sanders was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaas Hofman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 87 played minutes Holijsloot FC got a freekick which was hit by Mark Evans. After some careless play in the Holijsloot FC defense, Gert Jan Franssen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Klaas Hofman. The Holijsloot FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Klaas Hofman should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Jan Sanders managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blenkert HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Sanders was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaas Hofman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Klaas Hofman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Jan Franssen, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. With a little luck, Blenkert HC's Steve Molnar got control of the ball when Arie Oosterveld tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Holijsloot FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Blenkert HC.
