Westerbuurt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toni Riemers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the game, Harold Ijsselhof was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Westerbuurt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Strenkhaar the free kick. The supporters of Strenkhaar booed when Westerbuurt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harold Ijsselhof didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pieter Veentjer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nathan Fleur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter Veentjer in the 42nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Pieter Veentjer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westerbuurt's supporters rose to their feet, but Pieter Veentjer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nathan Fleur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Toni Riemers got free with Nathan Fleur in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kristian Heida lost his temper 59 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 58 minutes into the game, one of Westerbuurt:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some careless play in the Westerbuurt defense, Ronald van Rijswijk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rinus Pruischer. The Westerbuurt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rinus Pruischer should have stopped the shot. In the 70th minute, Derk Hofmeester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 72 in the game by Toni Riemers from a close distance when the talented Nathan Fleur managed to make a qualified save. Strenkhaar's players were relieved. When Ronald van Rijswijk came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Strenkhaar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald van Rijswijk couldn't finish the play. In the 76th minute, Marco de Jong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronald van Rijswijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Toni Riemers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Ronald van Rijswijk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Toni Riemers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nathan Fleur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 98 minutes into the game, Otto Heuvel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Westerbuurt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Strenkhaar the free kick. Otto Heuvel hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Strenkhaar had won after a very even match.
