Roelof Appel hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Frits Eggens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teun Wilson in the 6th minute of the match. Mike Woering's late challenge caught a Wetsens HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mike Woering helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Overschie HC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! Wetsens HC's Teun Wilson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 11th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 13 played minutes Wetsens HC got a freekick which was hit by Roelof Appel. After a rather tough play, Overschie HC's Peter Stuijt got a free kick in the 18th minute. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Teun Wilson took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Frits Eggens to make any attempt to save it. Roel Verhoeven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Hofmeester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 played minutes Overschie HC got a freekick which was hit by Pepijn Roewen. 41 minutes into the game, Harmen van Rhijn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wetsens HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Overschie HC the free kick. Harmen van Rhijn hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olaf Hofmeester stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Overschie HC's goal looked a bit too open when Teun Wilson came free, but Frits Eggens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernst van der Woude sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Overschie HC's Frits Eggens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teun Wilson in the 63rd minute of play. Roelof Appel charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roelof Appel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Overschie HC booed when Wetsens HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roelof Appel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Olaf Hofmeester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pepijn Roewens short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Roel Verhoeven to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wetsens HC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! In the 77th minute, Harmen van Rhijn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olaf Hofmeester recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pepijn Roewen got free with Roel Verhoeven in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roelof Appel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frits Eggens having to interfere.
