Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joop van Beukering kicked off to start the match. Jan Hendrik Ruiter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerald van der Werff in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Hulsberg's goal looked a bit too open when Gerald van der Werff came free, but Jan Hendrik Ruiter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Hendrik Ruiter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop van Beukering, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 13 minutes, Joop van Beukering managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verrebest HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joop van Beukering was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jan Hendrik Ruiter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerald van der Werff's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Gerald van der Werff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Hendrik Ruiter having to interfere. Tonnie Kroeze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerald van der Werff struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Jan Hendrik Ruiter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verrebest HC. Gerald van der Werff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jan Hendrik Ruiter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Joop van Beukering managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verrebest HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joop van Beukering was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Hendrik Ruiter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute Victor Smits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geert Arend van Westerop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Krijnenburg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geert Arend van Westerop having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Victor Smits reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Geert Arend van Westerop. The goal made the score 1-0. Victor Smits recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Smits was the one to do the kick off. Marcus Krijnenburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Geert Arend van Westerop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Hulsberg booed when Verrebest HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Weggemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacob Luijten hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerald van der Werff got free with Jan Hendrik Ruiter in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jan Hendrik Ruiter was a little too slow when Joop van Beukering got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-3. Tonnie Kroeze's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geert Arend van Westerop read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Joop van Beukering received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jan Hendrik Ruiter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hulsberg's Jan Hendrik Ruiter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Hulsberg from getting a goal against them. Joop van Beukering struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Jan Hendrik Ruiter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verrebest HC. Gerald van der Werffs short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Jan Hendrik Ruiter to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
