Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jurre van Fessum started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Michel Schokkenbroek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathieu Dekkers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathieu Dekkers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommie Dost, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 6 minutes into the game, Huib Oss was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maren's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bergkwatier the free kick. After 7 played minutes Maren got a freekick which was hit by Huib Oss. Marc Donderwinkel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurre van Fessum in the 12th minute of play. Jurre van Fessum struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Marc Donderwinkel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maren. Co Kip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Donderwinkel having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Michel Schokkenbroek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Co Kip could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Marc Donderwinkel made a huge save. In the 31st minute, Michel Schokkenbroek made a precise shot to the right of Mathieu Dekkers. Maren's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mathieu Dekkers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Schokkenbroek, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a rather tough play, Maren's Leendert Baaijen got a free kick in the 37th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The wind increased when Tommie Dost made the kick off in the second half. Marc Donderwinkel had in the 53rdth minute some difficulties stopping Pim Hoving's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 54th minute, Govert Struik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Co Kip in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marc Donderwinkel saved Bergkwatier from getting behind. The supporters of Maren booed when Bergkwatier was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Govert Struik didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Maren's goalkeeper Mathieu Dekkers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michel Schokkenbroek. After 70 played minutes Bergkwatier got a freekick which was hit by Elco van der Meer. In the 72nd match minute, Bergkwatier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Schokkenbroek to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Stef Snijders was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bergkwatier's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maren the free kick. After 74 played minutes Bergkwatier got a freekick which was hit by Stef Snijders. In the 75th minute of the match Pim Hoving sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marc Donderwinkel skillfully saved the ball. Marc Donderwinkel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Co Kip in the 80th minute of play. Michel Schokkenbroek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes, Johan van Galen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maren and the Bergkwatier players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Maren's Johan van Galen got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Tommie Dost struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Mathieu Dekkers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bergkwatier. When Klaas de Putter fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maren's protests and gave Klaas de Putter a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Klaas de Putter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michel Schokkenbroek scored 0-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mathieu Dekkers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Bergkwatier players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
