After a defensive mix-up in Nijgraaf HC's zone, Harold Genkenaar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alwin Beerthuis came out of the goal and Harold Genkenaar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alwin Beerthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Huizen in the 5th minute of the match. If Nathan Huizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alwin Beerthuis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathan Huizen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 minutes, Fabian Hagenouw mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bagben FC and the Nijgraaf HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Fabian Hagenouw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alwin Beerthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Hagenouw in the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of Bagben FC booed when Nijgraaf HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thijs Bruin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Bagben FC defense, Joost van Kampen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elbert Ommen. The Bagben FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elbert Ommen should have stopped the shot. If Harold Genkenaar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elbert Ommen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joost van Kampen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Bagben FC booed when Nijgraaf HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Collen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harold Genkenaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alwin Beerthuis having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Nijgraaf HC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bagben FC:s goal. In the 48th minute, Harold Genkenaar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harold Genkenaar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joost van Kampen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Elbert Ommen made a huge save. Martien Brons kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Nijgraaf HC defense, Fabian Hagenouw kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alwin Beerthuis. The Nijgraaf HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alwin Beerthuis should have stopped the shot. Eelco Koning's late challenge caught a Bagben FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eelco Koning helped the player get up and apologised. Eelco Koning hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. If Joost van Kampen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 played minutes Bagben FC got a freekick which was hit by Joost Hanekamp. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Joost van Kampen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nijgraaf HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joost van Kampen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elbert Ommen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alwin Beerthuis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold Genkenaar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Joost van Kampen took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Elbert Ommen to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nijgraaf HC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
