In the 12th minute Dennis Oldenbeuving shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gertjan Haydon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Weijereind's goal looked a bit too open when Klaas Jan Caluwé came free, but Wilco Medgyesi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ivo Naaijer fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Weijereind's protests and gave Ivo Naaijer a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Weijereind's Ivo Naaijer got a free kick in the 17th minute. Plein's Diderik Boerma shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wilco Medgyesi but with some difficulty. If Ted Geurtsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klaas Jan Caluwé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dennis Oldenbeuving in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gertjan Haydon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Plein's Gertjan Haydon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathan van Zalen in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes, Hans-Cees Daelemans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plein and the Weijereind players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Plein getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Hans-Cees Daelemans hit a great ball. In the 41st match minute, Plein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diderik Boerma to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Oldenbeuving in the 44th minute of play forced Plein's goalkeeper Gertjan Haydon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dennis Oldenbeuving sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dennis Oldenbeuving stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gertjan Haydon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dennis Oldenbeuving's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After a rather tough play, Weijereind's Chris Mueller got a free kick in the 57th minute. Diderik Boerma, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Klaas Jan Caluwé managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plein's supporters rose to their feet, but Klaas Jan Caluwé was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilco Medgyesi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Ted Geurtsen put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Wilco Medgyesi. In the 77thth minute of the game Klaas Jan Caluwé who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Weijereind's Wilco Medgyesi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chris Mueller charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris Mueller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th match minute, Weijereind was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Mueller to maneuver through the defense. Weijereind's Wilco Medgyesi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Geurtsen in the 80th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Hans-Cees Daelemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Oldenbeuving blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gertjan Haydon having to make a save. If Nathan van Zalen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans-Cees Daelemans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilco Medgyesi having to interfere. Weijereind's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
