Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dennis Oldenbeuving got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Haskerdijken HC's Andy Oss got control of the ball when Nathan van Zalen tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Ijksma in the 4th minute of play forced Weijereind's goalkeeper Wilco Medgyesi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If David Ijksma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tonnie Telkamp charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tonnie Telkamp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Weijereind's zone, David Ijksma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilco Medgyesi came out of the goal and David Ijksma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mario Zijlstra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilco Medgyesi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Haskerdijken HC's Mario Zijlstra got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the game, Ivo Naaijer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weijereind's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haskerdijken HC the free kick. Andy Oss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

A beautiful save bye Weijereind's goalie prevented a goal. Nathan van Zalen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Oss having to interfere. If Mario Zijlstra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haskerdijken HC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
