Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Hilaard FC's Henk Deijnen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Henk Deijnen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Cor Smit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jan-Joost de Groot during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute Henk Deijnen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cor Smit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Jos Toolenaar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hilaard FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zeumeren HC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hilaard FC's Jos Toolenaar got a free kick in the 18th minute. With his leg Cor Smit managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Hilaard FC's Jos Toolenaar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Zeumeren HC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Theo Krijnenburg hit a great ball. Kevin Hauvers came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Zeumeren HC's Bill Höhenstein. But to his dismay, Bill Höhenstein quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 32 played minutes Zeumeren HC got a freekick which was hit by Joris Woudenberg. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theo Krijnenburg during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Zeumeren HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theo Krijnenburg to maneuver through the defense. Zeumeren HC's Cor Smit proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Zeumeren HC from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Berend Germs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bill Höhenstein made a kick off. Joris Woudenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Taco Weinands hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cor Smit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Toolenaar, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Theo Krijnenburg hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Henk Deijnen, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 70 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Cor Smit was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Kevin Hauvers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Berend Germs in the 73rd minute. Cor Smit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk Deijnen, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. When Bill Höhenstein came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Zeumeren HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bill Höhenstein couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Zeumeren HC's zone, Henk Deijnen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cor Smit came out of the goal and Henk Deijnen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cor Smit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos Toolenaar in the 93rd minute of play.
