Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Rein Degenkamp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taco Mook in the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jelle van der Meijde in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marinus Rooy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jelle van der Meijde in the 8th minute of play forced Elzet HC's goalkeeper Marinus Rooy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Schans's Rein Degenkamp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Schans from getting a goal against them. After having played for 13 minutes, Heiko Kleiker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elzet HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heiko Kleiker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heiko Kleiker got free with Rein Degenkamp in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jelle van der Meijde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jasper Kosterman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Heiko Kleiker struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Rein Degenkamp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elzet HC. Jasper Kosterman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marinus Rooy having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Elzet HC's goal looked a bit too open when Jelle van der Meijde came free, but Marinus Rooy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathias Tellingen charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Tellingen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Elzet HC's Mathias Tellingen got a free kick in the 37th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Dick Bruinsma kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Heiko Kleiker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rein Degenkamp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heiko Kleiker in the 61st minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Elzet HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathias Tellingen to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute of the match Dick Bruinsma shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marinus Rooy showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Jan Kuiper fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elzet HC's protests and gave Jan Kuiper a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot 71 in the game by Jasper Kosterman from a close distance when the talented Marinus Rooy managed to make a qualified save. Elzet HC's players were relieved. Jelle van der Meijde did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Marinus Rooy 81 minutes into the match. Jelle van der Meijde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 87 minutes of play, Schans's Jelle van der Meijde made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marinus Rooy was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Heiko Kleiker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Jan-Joost Timmer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schans's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elzet HC the free kick. After 95 played minutes Schans got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Joost Timmer. After 99 played minutes, Elzet HC's Harmen Weinands shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rein Degenkamp came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Elzet HC reached it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Schans walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
