The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jean-Paul Maseland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jelle van der Meijde in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Schans's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Brürs came free, but Rein Degenkamp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Peter Berendt kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th match minute, Schans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jasper Kosterman to maneuver through the defense. When Ricky Brürs came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Zennewijnen Eendracht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricky Brürs couldn't finish the play. Jean-Paul Maseland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasper Kosterman, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ricky Brürs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Jan-Peter Berendt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jelle van der Meijde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barry Buskes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Rein Degenkamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricky Brürs struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Rein Degenkamp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zennewijnen Eendracht. A collision led to Schans getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jan-Peter Berendt hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Zennewijnen Eendracht's Mart Sijmonds tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ricky Brürs struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Rein Degenkamp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zennewijnen Eendracht. If Ricky Brürs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barry Buskes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Peter Berendt kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jelle van der Meijde was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Jan-Peter Berendt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricky Brürs might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rein Degenkamp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricky Brürs ran back to his position shaking his head. Jelle van der Meijde's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Paul Maseland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Jean-Paul Maseland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jelle van der Meijde in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jelle van der Meijde in the 69th minute of play forced Zennewijnen Eendracht's goalkeeper Jean-Paul Maseland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jelle van der Meijde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Paul Maseland having to interfere. Barry Buskes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Rein Degenkamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th match minute, Schans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jasper Kosterman to maneuver through the defense. Zennewijnen Eendracht's Jean-Paul Maseland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jelle van der Meijde in the 94th minute of play. The Schans players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Zennewijnen Eendracht from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
