Teun Robbermond scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kristian Numan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Herbert Zeegelaar got his second yellow card in the match during the 19th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ton Jansen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Kristian Numan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kristian Numan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teun Robbermond in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niels Saenen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Niels Saenen might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yuri Schreuder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niels Saenen ran back to his position shaking his head. When Mark van der Valk fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zaarvlaas HC's protests and gave Mark van der Valk a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Zaarvlaas HC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Mark van der Valk hit a great ball. Ton Jansens short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Kristian Numan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ton Jansen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Kristian Numan made a huge save. Jan Bense's late challenge caught a Zaarvlaas HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Bense helped the player get up and apologised. Jan Bense hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Zaarvlaas HC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Egbert Bergmeester in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Ton Jansen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zaarvlaas HC's Mark van der Valk suffered a sore knee after 92 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 94th minute, Jan Bense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
