Mathias Roeles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Thijs Dekkers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jens van Steensel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias Roeles in the 31st minute of play forced Oxe HC's goalkeeper Thijs Dekkers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Oxe HC's goalkeeper Thijs Dekkers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 37 minutes, Mathias Roeles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purmer HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathias Roeles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mathias Roeles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thijs Dekkers having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Arjen Diggele hit a great ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Andreas Bosma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oxe HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas Bosma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Purmer HC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
