Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Bob Brons made the kick off which started today's match. Pim de Boer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert-Jan Geraets having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Zwingelspaan got a freekick which was hit by Joep Kregel. Zwingelspaan's Robert-Jan Geraets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pim de Boer in the 14th minute of play. Robert-Jan Geraets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pim de Boer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pim de Boer in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robert-Jan Geraets prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 21 played minutes Grootegast FC got a freekick which was hit by Melvin Bessing. In the 22nd minute, Joep Kregel sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Grootegast FC's Twan Severijnse didn't even have to move. René van Zijderveld charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed René van Zijderveld the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 23 played minutes Zwingelspaan got a freekick which was hit by René van Zijderveld. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pim de Boer in the 24th minute of play forced Zwingelspaan's goalkeeper Robert-Jan Geraets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Richard Kroeze notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Zwingelspaan's Robert-Jan Geraets. Robert-Jan Geraets was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Grootegast FC's Twan Severijnse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Brons in the 30th minute of play. Pim de Boer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Robert-Jan Geraets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Grootegast FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bob Brons fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richard Kroeze made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Pim de Boer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Bob Brons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Bob Brons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frank Overmars's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Twan Severijnse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Melvin Bessing's late challenge caught a Zwingelspaan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melvin Bessing helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Grootegast FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Melvin Bessing hit a great ball. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grootegast FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joep Kregel was slow to take the kick. During this time Zwingelspaan's players had a chance to rest. Frank Overmars fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Twan Severijnse having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Zwingelspaan's zone, Pim de Boer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robert-Jan Geraets came out of the goal and Pim de Boer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute Bob Brons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Twan Severijnse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Grootegast FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
