Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Harm Taalman started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Veenoord booed when Toven FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Vaalman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anton Jansen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Hendrik-Jan Lyesen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jurgen Theisens in the 26th minute of play forced Veenoord's goalkeeper Hendrik-Jan Lyesen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Meindert Pragt made a precise shot to the right of Hendrik-Jan Lyesen. Veenoord's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jan Batenburg kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Yorrick Holten made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Maurice van Zeist sent off a good shot on target. Harm Taalman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Yorrick Holten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jurgen Theisens to strike the kick off in the second half. Jan Batenburg hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute, Jan Batenburg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jurgen Theisens during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Jurgen Theisens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jurgen Theisens in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hendrik-Jan Lyesen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jurgen Theisens came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Toven FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jurgen Theisens couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute, Anton Jansen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harm Taalman in the 76th minute of play forced Toven FC's goalkeeper Yorrick Holten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Toven FC's Jurgen Theisens got a free kick in the 78th minute. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Harm Taalman put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Yorrick Holten. Arie Zuurman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yorrick Holten having to interfere. Veenoord's Hendrik-Jan Lyesen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Veenoord from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd match minute, Veenoord was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Batenburg to maneuver through the defense. Harm Taalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Veenoord were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Toven FC for a fine match.
