Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jan Baalman took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Willem Everts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Dennis Overdiep managed to get in a good position for a shot. Molenrij's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Overdiep was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boudewijn Homan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Willem Everts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boudewijn Homan. Gaasten's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Willem Everts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Molenrij getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Hans Zwarthoet hit a great ball. When Gaasten's Jan Baalman in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Molenrij's goalie prevented a goal. Bram Verbeek scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sjors Mols, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Willem Everts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bram Verbeek came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Gaasten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bram Verbeek couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Baalman in the 36th minute of play forced Molenrij's goalkeeper Sjors Mols to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
After 53 minutes of play, Gaasten's Jan Baalman made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sjors Mols was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th minute, Willem Everts made a precise shot to the right of Boudewijn Homan. Gaasten's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Sjors Mols showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bram Verbeek in the 63rd minute of the match. Gaasten's Boudewijn Homan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Gaasten from getting a goal against them. If Dennis Overdiep had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Molenrij's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Baalman came free, but Sjors Mols reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Molenrij's Job Luirink got a free kick in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Elmar Hoekstra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Molenrij's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaasten the free kick. 82 minutes into the match, Gaasten's goalkeeper Boudewijn Homan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Willem Everts. Willem Everts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Boudewijn Homan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Gaasten getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Koos Reitsma hit a great ball. In the 96th minute Dennis Overdiep shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boudewijn Homan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
