Eddy Stühling who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Wessel de Vogt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Brongerga HC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ate Heesen hit a great ball. Victor Heulmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ate Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaas Mueller in the 28th minute of play forced Brongerga HC's goalkeeper Wessel de Vogt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ate Heesen came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Brongerga HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ate Heesen couldn't finish the play. Ate Heesen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Victor Heulmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wessel de Vogt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaas Mueller in the 41st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ton Winter in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Heulmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Klaas Mueller made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theo Tevreden during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Schoondorpe HC's Sjoerd Everts got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 63rd minute, Ton Winter reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Victor Heulmann. The goal made the score 1-3. With a little luck, Schoondorpe HC's Victor Heulmann got control of the ball when Ate Heesen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85th minute, Eddy Stühling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wessel de Vogt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klaas Mueller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victor Heulmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ate Heesen in the 96th minute. Eddy Stühling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wessel de Vogt having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Brongerga HC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
