Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Wilfried Doren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Martin Moermans in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Wilfried Doren, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 10 minutes into the match, Boudewijn Barendregt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilfried Doren, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Koos Buckinx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrierveld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Koos Buckinx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Moershoofde FC's goalkeeper Victor Klaasens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Arrierveld booed when Moershoofde FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erben Mastebroek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Moermans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maikel de Vlieger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Klaasens having to make a save.

Wilfried Doren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Boudewijn Barendregt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. Arrierveld's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Moermans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. If Koos Buckinx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Koos Buckinx got free with Victor Klaasens in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 81 played minutes Moershoofde FC got a freekick which was hit by Stephan Schol. In the 89thth minute of the game Maikel de Vlieger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Moershoofde FC's Victor Klaasens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 91st minute of the match Jan-Peter Lodewijks shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victor Klaasens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Klaas Mol kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Maikel de Vlieger was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Moershoofde FC had won after a very even match.
