If Oscar Douwes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Schattenberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Leon Huizinga made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Oscar Douwes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stefano Buring was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Douwes in the 18th minute of play forced Bakel's goalkeeper Stefano Buring to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Nedergaard struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Stefano Buring didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hellouw. When Benjamin Nedergaard came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Hellouw fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Nedergaard couldn't finish the play. Oscar Douwes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Jaap Beuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bakel's Stefano Buring played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Douwes in the 29th minute of play. Oscar Douwes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefano Buring having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Geert Arend Roodenburg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hellouw were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Bakel's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rik Schuurmans took the corner. After having played for 47 minutes, Mark Schattenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bakel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Schattenberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carel van Zwieten to strike the kick off in the second half. Gregor Geerds hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute Mark Schattenberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Huizinga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hellouw's Michael van Fessum got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The supporters of Bakel booed when Hellouw was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Zondervan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Richard Bulder sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Hellouw's Leon Huizinga didn't even have to move. Oscar Douwes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bennie Grijpstra hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After 76 played minutes Rik Schuurmans shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Bakel's Stefano Buring to catch but Rik Schuurmans was lucky. It became 0-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. In the 83rd minute Oscar Douwes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefano Buring saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefano Buring made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Benjamin Nedergaard sent off a good shot on target. Hellouw played a much better game than Bakel and deserved their victory. The Bakel players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
