The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ellecom. Nico-Jan Velthuis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leon Rodenberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. 14 minutes in the game, Fokke Sneijder fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Leon Rodenberg having to interfere. Fokke Sneijder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abraham Hofmeester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Sjaak Moek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erben Raatjes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abraham Hofmeester in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erben Raatjes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sjaak Moek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erben Raatjes having to interfere. Leon Rodenberg was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Fokke Sneijder capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fokke Sneijder really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Abraham Hofmeester struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Erben Raatjes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oldeouwer HC. After some careless play in the Oldeouwer HC defense, Nico-Jan Velthuis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leon Rodenberg. The Oldeouwer HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leon Rodenberg should have stopped the shot. Abraham Hofmeester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fokke Sneijder to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Sjaak Moek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oldeouwer HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sjaak Moek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erben Raatjes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Oldeouwer HC's Sjaak Moek in 62 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Erben Raatjes guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 63 played minutes Ellecom got a freekick which was hit by Auke Been. With his leg Erben Raatjes managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Oldeouwer HC's Sjaak Moek fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nico-Jan Velthuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Leon Rodenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ellecom's zone, Abraham Hofmeester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erben Raatjes came out of the goal and Abraham Hofmeester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Klaas Brandsma during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ellecom fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! Leon Rodenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fokke Sneijder, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Erben Raatjes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Hofmeester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the game, Sjaak Moek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Erben Raatjes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Hans Tuhuteru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oldeouwer HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Tuhuteru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erben Raatjes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Abraham Hofmeester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
