After having played for 10 minutes, Eric Jansen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Plakkebord FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Jansen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerrit Brandsma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Klaas Lensen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Rijtseterp's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Bouwman came free, but Falco Baalen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The referee felt a red card was in order, 57 minutes into the game, when Andy Ieberink put in a rough tackle. Plakkebord FC played a much better game than Rijtseterp and deserved their victory. The Rijtseterp players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
