Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Doorning's Rob den Hartog started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Doorning getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Patrick Willems hit a great ball. In the 6th match minute, Doorning was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elroy Broers to maneuver through the defense. After 9 played minutes, Doorning's Coenraad Landman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emile Donderwinkel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Doorning reached it. Meindert Boeve kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The supporters of Helmond booed when Doorning was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Zuidema didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Helmond's Meindert Boeve got a free kick in the 17th minute. Rob den Hartog struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Emile Donderwinkel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doorning. In the 21st minute, Rob den Hartog ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emile Donderwinkel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Patrick Willems sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harm Eiting hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Rob den Hartog got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute Rob den Hartog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emile Donderwinkel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Helmond players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Doorning were winning 0-1.
The wind increased when Jan Hendrik de Jong made the kick off in the second half. Gio de Zwaan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Hendrik de Jong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marnix Koops sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Patrick Willems ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emile Donderwinkel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Jan Hendrik de Jong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gio de Zwaan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Elroy Broers sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Helmond's Emile Donderwinkel didn't even have to move. Nick Blanc kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Jan Hendrik de Jong managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helmond's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Hendrik de Jong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gio de Zwaan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Doorning supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Doorning would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
