Abraham Eisenga came out of the goal and Rogier Adriaanse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 12 minutes, Thijs Rooy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eenum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thijs Rooy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heilaren's Abraham Eisenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogier Adriaanse in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Pieter-Jan Klaus could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Gido Hesp however easily saved by the left post. 21 minutes into the game, Eenum's Rogier Adriaanse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abraham Eisenga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogier Adriaanse in the 25th minute of play forced Heilaren's goalkeeper Abraham Eisenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcel Melker's late challenge caught a Eenum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcel Melker helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd match minute, Heilaren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Melker to maneuver through the defense. Pieter-Jan Klaus in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gido Hesp, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Heilaren defense, Rogier Adriaanse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abraham Eisenga. The Heilaren fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abraham Eisenga should have stopped the shot. Riemer Bronkhorst charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Riemer Bronkhorst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th match minute, Heilaren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Riemer Bronkhorst to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogier Adriaanse stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gido Hesp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter-Jan Klaus in the 55th minute of play. If Gijsbert Scholte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dirk Spannenburg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gido Hesp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Abraham Eisenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogier Adriaanse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thijs Rooy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Abraham Eisenga made a huge save. After 71 minutes, Gijsbert Scholte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heilaren and the Eenum players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 72 played minutes Heilaren got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert Scholte. In the 78th match minute, Heilaren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernard Derks to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Rogier Adriaanse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abraham Eisenga was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Eenum's Gido Hesp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dirk Spannenburg in the 81st minute of play. Thijs Rooy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Abraham Eisenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute Pieter-Jan Klaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gido Hesp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gido Hesp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Spannenburg in the 91st minute of play. Heilaren's Abraham Eisenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Heilaren from getting a goal against them. Rogier Adriaanse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Eenum supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eenum would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
