Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Schillaard's Danny Collins started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Maxelt HC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Henry Bekker fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sjors Smits received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Marc van Mol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, John Zilverberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Schillaard's Henry Bekker got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Danny Collins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Giel Cohen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Henry Bekker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schillaard's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Bekker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giel Cohen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Schillaard booed when Maxelt HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bennie Ijksma didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sjors Smits had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Sjors Smits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc van Mol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes, Niels Dongen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schillaard and the Maxelt HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Maxelt HC booed when Schillaard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niels Dongen didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Schillaard getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Johannes Sleiffer hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
In the 52nd minute Sjors Smits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc van Mol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Zilverberg's late challenge caught a Maxelt HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Zilverberg helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Schillaard getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. John Zilverberg hit a great ball. Henry Bekker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the last second Marc van Mol throw himself and got hold of the ball when Niek Koekkoek in the 68thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. If Danny Collins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Schillaard were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Maxelt HC for a fine match.
