But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Japke Germs couldn't finish the play. Sjef Gerseke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 played minutes Horsen HC got a freekick which was hit by Auke Alards. Vinkwijk FC's Barry Hekman got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Vinkwijk FC's zone, Gert Hagenouw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Kuys came out of the goal and Gert Hagenouw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Horsen HC's goalkeeper Carel Weken had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barry Hekman. Sjef Gerseke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45thth minute of the game Sjef Gerseke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Horsen HC's Carel Weken was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Japke Germs to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Vinkwijk FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilfred Stout. Barry Hekman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Carel Weken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Japke Germs came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Horsen HC fans jumped to their feet. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henk Niekamp during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gert Hagenouw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Horsen HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carel Weken should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute, Barry Hekman made a precise shot to the right of Carel Weken. Horsen HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. The supporters of Horsen HC booed when Vinkwijk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfred Stout didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinkwijk FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
