Lithooien HC's Ferry Reinders got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lithooien HC's Ted Korf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathieu Zevenberg in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Arjan Dorenbosch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jurjen Vaalman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius van der Haar having to interfere. If Ferry Reinders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antoon Dekker hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Wim Dekker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute of the match Sjoerd Rooy shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julius van der Haar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dulder's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lithooien HC the free kick. The supporters of Lithooien HC booed when Dulder was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronald Abbekerk didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Lithooien HC's goalkeeper Ted Korf had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andre Ronde. Mathieu Zevenberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ted Korf. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mathieu Zevenberg ran back to his position shaking his head. If Andre Ronde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronald Abbekerk struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ted Korf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dulder. Arjan Dorenbosch hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ferry Reinders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Dulder getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Antoon Dekker hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Dulder's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jurjen Vaalman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 63 minutes into the match, Lithooien HC's goal looked a bit too open when Andre Ronde came free, but Ted Korf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ferry Reinders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius van der Haar having to interfere. Mathieu Zevenberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ted Korf having to make a save. Julius van der Haar made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Jurjen Vaalman sent off a good shot on target. Ted Korf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathieu Zevenberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mathieu Zevenberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ted Korf read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Lithooien HC got a freekick which was hit by Freek Pluym. It was beautiful to see Dulder's Geert Brugmans in action when he in the 96th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After 97 played minutes Lithooien HC got a freekick which was hit by Freek Pluym. Mathieu Zevenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ted Korf having to interfere. The Lithooien HC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lithooien HC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
