Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Meindert Colen started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Fimel HC's Joop Meinders ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rick de Hondt. Rick de Hondt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Harald Meerdink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rick de Hondt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joop Meinders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Fimel HC's goal looked a bit too open when Meindert Colen came free, but Jos Heersprink reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If David Molhoek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Molhoek struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Jos Heersprink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velsen. Jos Heersprink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Molhoek in the 28th minute of the match. Fimel HC's Jos Heersprink played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Molhoek in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Fimel HC's Joop Meinders sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rick de Hondt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fimel HC's Jos Heersprink played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Meindert Colen in the 39th minute of play. When Harald Meerdink, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 41 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Rick de Hondt was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Joop Meinders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Rick de Hondt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Joop Meinders managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fimel HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joop Meinders was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rick de Hondt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joop Meinders to strike the kick off in the second half. Riemer Zaagman's late challenge caught a Fimel HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Riemer Zaagman helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes Velsen got a freekick which was hit by Riemer Zaagman. 60 minutes into the game, Derk de Jong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velsen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fimel HC the free kick. A collision led to Velsen getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Derk de Jong hit a great ball. David Molhoek might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jos Heersprink. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Molhoek ran back to his position shaking his head. Meindert Colen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jos Heersprink having to interfere. Jos Heersprink made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when David Molhoek sent off a good shot on target. After 93 minutes, Florian Barends mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fimel HC and the Velsen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Meindert Colen struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Jos Heersprink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velsen. Meindert Colen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fimel HC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
