In the 5thth minute of the game Hub de Zwart who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mirns FC's Iwan Aerssen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 7th minute, Ryan Asselbergs made a precise shot to the right of Marick de Zwart. Folgeren's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 11th minute, Gerben Kuipers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Asselbergs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Marick de Zwart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Dolf Reitsma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marick de Zwart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mirns FC booed when Folgeren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Foeke Swerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dolf Reitsma in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marick de Zwart prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Hub de Zwart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 40 in the game by Jelle Lyle from a close distance when the talented Iwan Aerssen managed to make a qualified save. Mirns FC's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Jelle Lyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Folgeren's supporters rose to their feet, but Jelle Lyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iwan Aerssen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iwan Aerssen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hub de Zwart's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Hub de Zwart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Folgeren players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mirns FC were winning 0-2.

In the 96th match minute, Mirns FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serge Jeronimus to maneuver through the defense. Marco Smits took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iwan Aerssen. Mirns FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mirns FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
