After a defensive mix-up in Nieuwertera's zone, Carsten Bogaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolf de Zeeuw came out of the goal and Carsten Bogaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorn de Jong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 14th minute, Jan Hendrik Weerd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Heppert's goal looked a bit too open when Timmie Blommaart came free, but Jorn de Jong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sjef Lange in the 24th minute of play forced Heppert's goalkeeper Jorn de Jong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nieuwertera's Timmie Blommaart got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28 played minutes, Nieuwertera's Alwin Wibier shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorn de Jong came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nieuwertera reached it. Twan Veltman might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorn de Jong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Twan Veltman ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute, Ralph Baptist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Heppert's goal looked a bit too open when Twan Veltman came free, but Jorn de Jong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niek Venema recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Heppert players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Nieuwertera were winning 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carsten Bogaard to strike the kick off in the second half. Jorn de Jong was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Timmie Blommaart capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Timmie Blommaart really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Rolf de Zeeuw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carsten Bogaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niek Venema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sjef Lange during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sjef Lange's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Jorn de Jong skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Heppert's Carsten Bogaard in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nieuwertera's goalie prevented a goal. Niek Venema's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolf de Zeeuw read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heppert's goalkeeper Jorn de Jong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolf de Zeeuw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niek Venema in the 92nd minute of play.
