In the 32nd minute, Jan-Willem van Bronckhorst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Nyawier's zone, Dirk Jan Ponk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Friebel came out of the goal and Dirk Jan Ponk tried to chip the ball over his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaas Jan Blank in the 46th minute of play forced Britsum's goalkeeper Hans Oosterveld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

After 54 played minutes Nyawier got a freekick which was hit by Kristof van Dijk. In the 55th minute of the match Jelle Daverveld sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eric Friebel skillfully saved the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Nyawier's goal looked a bit too open when Jurre Reinhard came free, but Eric Friebel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Britsum's Tonnie Zeevenhoven got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute, Jurre Reinhard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 69 minutes, Alexander Brandsma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jurre Reinhard in the 93rd minute of play forced Nyawier's goalkeeper Eric Friebel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the game, Jurre Reinhard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Eric Friebel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Britsum walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
