With a little luck, Hogebrug's Gert Wijnands got control of the ball when Tommie Kruijs tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilfred Gerfen in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gert Wijnands saved Hogebrug from getting behind. Noordwolde SC's Alex van der Leegte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Kooij in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Noordwolde SC booed when Hogebrug was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel van Nieuwstadt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 minutes, Jacques Boswijk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hogebrug and the Noordwolde SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hogebrug's Jacques Boswijk got a free kick in the 20th minute. Tommie Kruijs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Gert Wijnands made a huge save. Jean-Paul Dilling charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jean-Paul Dilling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tommie Kruijs in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gert Wijnands, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The nice shot from Tommie Kruijs in the 41stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Gert Wijnands had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Sjors Korfs hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Tommie Kruijs, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gert Wijnands made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Tommie Kruijs sent off a good shot on target. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Robbie Kooij made the kick off in the second half. Tommie Kruijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gert Wijnands tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex van der Leegte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sjef Ebbinge in the 54th minute. Alex van der Leegte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Kooij in the 55th minute of the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Tommie Kruijs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noordwolde SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommie Kruijs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Noordwolde SC's Wilfred Gerfen in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Jean-Paul Dilling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tommie Kruijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Gert Wijnands tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hogebrug's Ton Baars got a free kick in the 89th minute.
