If Henk de Bruin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnold Kolman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Assendelft struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Paul Zeegelaar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gemert. Frank Assendelft sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Zeegelaar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sjors Daelemans, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. When Alex Kramer fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Delft's protests and gave Alex Kramer a yellow card for diving instead. Paul Zeegelaar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sjors Daelemans's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 25th match minute, Gemert was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guus Otten to maneuver through the defense. If Henk de Bruin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Gemert's goal looked a bit too open when Karel Robben came free, but Casper Bronkhorst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Delft's Arnold Kolman got a free kick in the 38th minute. After 39 played minutes, Gemert's Serge Zevenhuizen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paul Zeegelaar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gemert reached it. Henk de Bruin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Bronkhorst having to interfere. Henk de Bruin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Casper Bronkhorst having to make a save.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sjors Daelemans to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Guus Otten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 54 minutes, Karel Robben managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delft's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karel Robben was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Assendelft could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Paul Zeegelaar made a huge save. Casper Bronkhorst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Robben, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Henk de Bruin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Casper Bronkhorst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk de Bruin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Karel Robben had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Frank Assendelft notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Delft's Paul Zeegelaar. Paul Zeegelaar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gemert's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
