After a defensive mix-up in Rotterdam City's zone, Edgar Zuidam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robin Wagemakers came out of the goal and Edgar Zuidam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rotterdam City's Jan-Willem Tuhuteru quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Teun Saveneij, made in the 13th minute of the game. Gio Geraets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Geitz having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Gio Geraets had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oliver Geitz. Deurne VV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gio Geraets was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Harold Bömker put in a rough tackle. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rotterdam City! Rotterdam City's Robin Wagemakers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ton Zeegers in the 25th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Gio Geraets left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rotterdam City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Mart Zegers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Gio Geraets left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rotterdam City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

Kristian Karelse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Geitz having to interfere. Gio Geraets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Oliver Geitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oliver Geitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Hesseling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes in the game Jacques Theunissen did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Bill Baan. Ton Zeegers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Robin Wagemakers made a huge save. Deurne VV's Edgar Severijnse shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 64th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Robin Wagemakers but with some difficulty. Robin Wagemakers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ton Zeegers in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Gio Geraets had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oliver Geitz. Deurne VV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gio Geraets was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. 74 minutes into the match, Rotterdam City's goal looked a bit too open when Ruud Boekholt came free, but Robin Wagemakers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Deurne VV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruud Boekholt to maneuver through the defense. Gio Geraets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Deurne VV getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ruud Boekholt hit a great ball. Mart Zegers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 86th play minutes Gio Geraets shot 6-1, a short shot which went by Oliver Geitz and just under the crossbar into goal. Pieter Bodde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Deurne VV defense, Gio Geraets kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oliver Geitz. The Deurne VV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oliver Geitz should have stopped the shot.
