Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Jeffrey Veninga successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 4 played minutes Head Hunters got a freekick which was hit by Felix Mos. After having played for 8 minutes, Damien Zondervan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Head Hunters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Zondervan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Menno Kemper fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meerselo FC's protests and gave Menno Kemper a yellow card for diving instead. Menno Kemper kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taco Meulman in the 16th minute of play forced Head Hunters's goalkeeper Jeffrey Veninga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Meerselo FC booed when Head Hunters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demy Zuurman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute Damien Zondervan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joop Zalm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Elmar de Jong had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeffrey Veninga. Head Hunters's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elmar de Jong was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Wesley Meulman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Joop Zalm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cobus Meder hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Damien Zondervan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Taco Meulman came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Meerselo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taco Meulman couldn't finish the play. In the 40th match minute, Head Hunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferry Moorman to maneuver through the defense. When Wesley Meulman came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Head Hunters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Meulman couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Taco Meulman was the one to do the kick off. Nick Melis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Taco Meulman came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Meerselo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taco Meulman couldn't finish the play. Head Hunters's Jeffrey Veninga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taco Meulman in the 70th minute of play. The long shot by Elroy Heuving in the 74th minute really tested Joop Zalm's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Wesley Meulman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joop Zalm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Meulman, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Head Hunters's goal looked a bit too open when Taco Meulman came free, but Jeffrey Veninga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elmar de Jong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeffrey Veninga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elmar de Jong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Taco Meulman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Head Hunters's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
