With an extended leg and a bit of luck Falco Tamminga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 played minutes Venebrugge got a freekick which was hit by Henk-Jan de Gooijer. In the 18th match minute, Venebrugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacques Zilverberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Elbert Doren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Falco Tamminga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elbert Doren in the 27th minute of play. Luc Tieman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Cornelisse, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Pierre Harms received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Falco Tamminga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pierre Harms in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falco Tamminga saved Kapolder RKSV from getting behind. The Venebrugge fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Venebrugge's Pierre Harms looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 46th minute, Chiel Mueller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pierre Harms stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luc Tieman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Cornelisse in the 53rd minute of the match. Falco Tamminga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre Harms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephan Heijen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luc Tieman having to interfere. If Billy Cornelisse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henk-Jan de Gooijer kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stephan Heijen in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luc Tieman saved Venebrugge from getting behind. After 86 minutes of play, Kapolder RKSV's Billy Cornelisse made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luc Tieman was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute Henk-Jan de Gooijer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Falco Tamminga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pepijn Soer came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Kapolder RKSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pepijn Soer couldn't finish the play.
