The audience was convinced that Pierre Harms's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans den Hertogh was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Luc Tieman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfried Kroon in the 17th minute of the match. Luc Tieman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfried Kroon in the 20th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Giel Willemse made a precise shot to the right of Hans den Hertogh. Markvelde Eendracht's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Elroy Aalders kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Venebrugge's Pierre Harms in the 31st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Hans den Hertogh was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Markvelde Eendracht through an amazing save. In the 33rd minute, Elbert Doren fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 38th minute, Pierre Harms got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pierre Harms in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans den Hertogh saved Markvelde Eendracht from getting behind. Elbert Doren's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Hans den Hertogh skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Luc Tieman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfried Kroon in the 42nd minute of play. Dries Helwig struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Luc Tieman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Markvelde Eendracht.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Godfried Kroon made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Markvelde Eendracht's goalkeeper Hans den Hertogh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Dries Helwig came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Markvelde Eendracht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dries Helwig couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Venebrugge's Frits Swart got a free kick in the 57th minute. Rob Valk hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Markvelde Eendracht's Dries Helwig got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dries Helwig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luc Tieman having to interfere. Luc Tieman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dries Helwig in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Venebrugge's goalkeeper Luc Tieman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dries Helwig. Dries Helwig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Luc Tieman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elbert Doren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans den Hertogh having to interfere. In the 81st minute Pierre Harms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans den Hertogh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luc Tieman made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Dries Helwig sent off a good shot on target. 87 minutes into the match, Venebrugge's goal looked a bit too open when Godfried Kroon came free, but Luc Tieman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venebrugge's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
