Robbie Ensing's late challenge caught a Kerkeind's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robbie Ensing helped the player get up and apologised. Akkooi SC's Kees Klerk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastiaan Dekens in the 25th minute of play. Kurt Valk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Kees Klerk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Kerkeind's goal looked a bit too open when Johan Ponk came free, but Frans de Zwart reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johan Ponk made a kick off. When Sebastiaan Dekens, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 51 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Kees Klerk was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of Kerkeind booed when Akkooi SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elbert de Ridder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Wijker hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The Akkooi SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.
