Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Michel Mathijsen kicked off to start the match. Emiel Landzaat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bastiaan Tuhuteru in the 4th minute of the match. Maikel Oevermans kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Emiel Landzaat was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pepijn Schenning. With a little luck, AZ ALKMAAR FC's Emiel Landzaat got control of the ball when Ernest Rekers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bastiaan Tuhuteru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiel Landzaat having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Tibben's Ernest Rekers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emiel Landzaat made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 14 played minutes Tibben got a freekick which was hit by Hubert Rooy. In the 19th minute, AZ ALKMAAR FC's Teo Bogaard seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Teo Bogaard the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AZ ALKMAAR FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Teo Bogaard had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 18th minute, one of AZ ALKMAAR FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AZ ALKMAAR FC. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Tibben. Joost Schokkenbroek stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emiel Landzaat. 2-0. With a little luck, AZ ALKMAAR FC's Emiel Landzaat got control of the ball when Ernest Rekers tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tibben's zone, Julius Sterenberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elroy Matthijs came out of the goal and Julius Sterenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 played minutes Tibben got a freekick which was hit by Hubert Rooy. Ernest Rekers managed to, on his own, get straight through AZ ALKMAAR FC's defense and in the 44th minute placed the ball to the left of Emiel Landzaat. 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julius Sterenberg during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Julius Sterenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Emiel Landzaat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Rekers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernest Rekers scored 4-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emiel Landzaat, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anthony Planting during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of AZ ALKMAAR FC booed when Tibben was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Planting didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Bastiaan Tuhuteru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiel Landzaat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freek Wilbrink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, Ernest Rekers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emiel Landzaat. AZ ALKMAAR FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernest Rekers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Maikel Oevermans missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 85 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Elroy Matthijs right hand side. Douwe Schepers charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Douwe Schepers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 played minutes AZ ALKMAAR FC got a freekick which was hit by Douwe Schepers. Bastiaan Tuhuteru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiel Landzaat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Rekers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bastiaan Tuhuteru in the 96th minute of play forced AZ ALKMAAR FC's goalkeeper Emiel Landzaat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AZ ALKMAAR FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
