Koen Spanjer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th minute, one of Dodewaard SV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dodewaard SV. Gido Meijering sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Elco Hoffhuis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dodewaard SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Elco Hoffhuis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurits Verhoeven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elco Hoffhuis in the 48th minute of play forced Ad Mortuum Mei Bibi Y.A.'s goalkeeper Maurits Verhoeven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Elco Hoffhuis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Ad Mortuum Mei Bibi Y.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gido Meijering came free, but Maurits Verhoeven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ad Mortuum Mei Bibi Y.A.'s zone, Elco Hoffhuis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurits Verhoeven came out of the goal and Elco Hoffhuis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elco Hoffhuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Maurits Verhoeven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dodewaard SV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
