Peter Ooijer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddy Schrage having to make a save. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stegerveld VV's goalkeeper Eddy Schrage, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gijsbert Alferink showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Sans, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, jong ajax's Kurt Koster got a free kick in the 17th minute. Gijsbert Alferink made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Sans in the 19th minute of play. Gijsbert Alferink showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Sans, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Eddy Schrage was a little too slow when Berend Maurits got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 1-1. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Peter Ooijer sped through Stegerveld VV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eddy Schrage. Peter Ooijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roland Sans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gijsbert Alferink made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Sans in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerjan Bartele got free with Gijsbert Alferink in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute Roland Sans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gijsbert Alferink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gijsbert Alferink made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brain Lokin in the 60th minute of play. Stegerveld VV's Eddy Schrage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berend Maurits in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Roland Sans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gijsbert Alferink saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Peter Ooijer sped through Stegerveld VV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eddy Schrage. With a little luck, jong ajax's Gijsbert Alferink got control of the ball when Gerjan Bartele tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gijsbert Alferink made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthony Wolf in the 76th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Ooijer couldn't finish the play. jong ajax were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
