The Schraard Eendracht fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Eylens should have stopped the shot. Teo Driessens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Eylens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, Schraard Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Damstra to maneuver through the defense. If Oscar de Vries had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teo Driessens in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Eylens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Schraard Eendracht's Peter Eylens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Schraard Eendracht from getting a goal against them. Jacques Stroeve succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Schraard Eendracht's Peter Eylens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Driessens in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Schraard Eendracht's goalkeeper Peter Eylens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar de Vries. 48 minutes into the game, Werner Reitsma was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uithuizen VV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schraard Eendracht the free kick. After a rather tough play, Uithuizen VV's Werner Reitsma got a free kick in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacques Stroeve to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Oscar de Vries's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peter Eylens was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Oscar de Vries took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Eylens. Peter Eylens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Werner Reitsma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd match minute, Schraard Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens Damstra to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Uithuizen VV were the better team. Uithuizen VV's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
