Jacques Kostermans who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Ronald Overmars when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ronald Overmars took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Baalman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Heidhuizen's goalkeeper Ronald Overmars had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacques Kostermans. In the 19th minute, Fabiën Veltman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronald Overmars took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Baalman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Baalman struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ronald Overmars didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amersfoort FC. Marc Baalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Heidhuizen's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Baalman came free, but Ronald Overmars reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Amersfoort FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiën Veltman came free, but Allard Robben reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronald Overmars tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacques Kostermans in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronald Overmars prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Matthijs Vroom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Allard Robben tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronald Overmars showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Baalman, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Jacques Kostermans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald Overmars having to interfere. Fabiën Veltman might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Allard Robben. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabiën Veltman ran back to his position shaking his head. Ronald Overmars showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Baalman, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Heidhuizen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
