Rozenburg HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alwin Reinders was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Alwin Reinders could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Floris Vonk however easily saved by the left post. Carel Brans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taco Hilbrands having to interfere. Gijs Scheerhoorn struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Floris Vonk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blokzijl. Taco Hilbrands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carel Brans in the 22nd minute of the match. Floris Vonk made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Alwin Reinders sent off a good shot on target. 31 minutes into the match, Rozenburg HC's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Koops came free, but Floris Vonk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alwin Reinders got free with Floris Vonk in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Floris Vonk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Koops, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 35th minute, Rozenburg HC's Joep Thomasse seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Joep Thomasse the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rozenburg HC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joep Thomasse had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rozenburg HC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 37 minutes, Blokzijl's Gijs Scheerhoorn got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Floris Vonk. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carel Brans in the 40th minute of play forced Blokzijl's goalkeeper Taco Hilbrands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mathias Haken received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Floris Vonk came out and tried to block the shot, but Mathias Haken slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 42nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Koops stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Carel Brans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rozenburg HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carel Brans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Taco Hilbrands breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Floris Vonk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alwin Reinders in the 56th minute of play. Thomas van Rhijn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Floris Vonk having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Carel Brans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Taco Hilbrands. If Carel Brans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Rozenburg HC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Haken came free, but Floris Vonk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carel Brans in the 79th minute of play forced Blokzijl's goalkeeper Taco Hilbrands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Hendrik Roordink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carel Brans in the 86th minute of play forced Blokzijl's goalkeeper Taco Hilbrands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Hendrik Roordink hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Taco Hilbrands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carel Brans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jan Hendrik Roordink came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Rozenburg HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Hendrik Roordink couldn't finish the play. Blokzijl's Taco Hilbrands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carel Brans in the 92nd minute of play. Taco Hilbrands made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Jan Hendrik Roordink sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rozenburg HC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Blokzijl.
