After a defensive mix-up in Grou City Heroes's zone, Jelle Raatjes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willem Moek came out of the goal and Jelle Raatjes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Anton Brinker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Willem Moek. Grou City Heroes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anton Brinker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Wessel Broerse made the kick off in the second half. Elbert Bartele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roel van Dongen in the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roel van Dongen in the 53rd minute of play forced Blokum's goalkeeper Elbert Bartele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wessel Broerse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elbert Bartele having to interfere. Jelle Raatjes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Willem Moek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willem Moek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anton Brinker's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Jelle Raatjes came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Willem Moek could save by the left post. In the 69th minute Anton Brinker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willem Moek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willem Moek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jelle Raatjes in the 70th minute. Jelle Raatjes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willem Moek having to interfere. In the 93rd match minute, Grou City Heroes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pim Euving to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute of the match Blokum got a corner. Grou City Heroes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henry Beukenkamp ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Henry Beukenkamp almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Grou City Heroes's Willem Moek did a great save. The Grou City Heroes supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Blokum's performance. The match ended with a win for Blokum.
