Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dirk Schophuis kicked off to start the match. Hans-Cees Werner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donny de Visscher, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 6th minute Dirk Schophuis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Cees Werner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th match minute, Welp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Terpstra to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerrie Fellinger to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, PSV Eindhoven's Frank Roewen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hans-Cees Werner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Welp's Hugo Terpstra got his second yellow card of the match in the 54th minute. The referee ordered Hugo Terpstra off the ground. Fokke Klok was left in no man's land by his defense there! 97 minutes into the game, Welp's Arie Roeters nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fokke Klok made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the PSV Eindhoven players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Welp.
