Pieter-Jan van Wonderen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leon Sturm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Gerjan van Zalen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerjan van Zalen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Sturm in the 14th minute of the match. Leon Sturm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerjan van Zalen having to interfere. Gerjan van Zalen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Sturm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pieter-Jan van Wonderen scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerjan van Zalen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Leon Sturm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dongwier V.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Leon Sturm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerjan van Zalen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mario Hoffhuis charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Hoffhuis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Pimpelmee SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Hoffhuis to maneuver through the defense. In the 39thth minute of the game Leon Sturm who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pimpelmee SV's Gerjan van Zalen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Ferdi van Nistelrooij hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Govert Molhoek during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leon Sturm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leon Sturm was the one to do the kick off. Gerjan van Zalen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pieter-Jan van Wonderen in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Pieter-Jan van Wonderen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dongwier V.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Pieter-Jan van Wonderen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pimpelmee SV's Gerjan van Zalen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Sturm in the 58th minute of play. Marinus Mensing kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pimpelmee SV's zone, Leon Sturm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerjan van Zalen came out of the goal and Leon Sturm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pimpelmee SV's Gerrit Stegeman got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elco de Ruijter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Leon Sturm dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gerjan van Zalen, 0-2. Dongwier V.V.'s Danny Owusu Abeyie shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 86th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gerjan van Zalen but with some difficulty. Pimpelmee SV's Gerjan van Zalen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Sturm in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Leon Sturm fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 97th minute Gerrit Stegeman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Famelen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dongwier V.V. played a much better game than Pimpelmee SV and deserved their victory. The Pimpelmee SV players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
