When Sirsjansland Utd's Roland Graaff in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sparta Rotterdam's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Sirsjansland Utd getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Denny Vledder hit a great ball. Gerwin de Haan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Peter Mook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Sirsjansland Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Henk Springelkamp came free, but Gerwin de Haan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Henk Springelkamp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sirsjansland Utd's zone, Jan-Peter Mook stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerwin de Haan came out of the goal and Jan-Peter Mook tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan-Peter Mook in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerwin de Haan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sparta Rotterdam's Wessel Velthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Sparta Rotterdam from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toni Klok during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Toni Klok kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, Sirsjansland Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Job Jacobs to maneuver through the defense. Wessel Velthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Graaff in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Sparta Rotterdam getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Kristof Hanekamp hit a great ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Jan-Peter Mook managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sparta Rotterdam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Peter Mook was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jan-Peter Mook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 43rd minute of the match Toni Klok completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Toni Klok a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Toni Klok kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sparta Rotterdam's goalkeeper Wessel Velthuis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paul Soer in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wessel Velthuis saved Sparta Rotterdam from getting behind. When Henk Springelkamp came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Sparta Rotterdam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henk Springelkamp couldn't finish the play. If Jan-Peter Mook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Sparta Rotterdam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gertjan de Graaf to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute Roland Graaff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wessel Velthuis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul Soer scored 1-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wessel Velthuis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Sirsjansland Utd's Roland Graaff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wessel Velthuis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wessel Velthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Graaff in the 86th minute of the match. Roland Graaff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wessel Velthuis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The Sirsjansland Utd players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
