Rogier Weken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lucas Niekamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the game, Laurens Mols cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sipke Driel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sipke Driel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk Springelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucas Niekamp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lucas Niekamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mirko Roeles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wessel Velthuis. Sparta Rotterdam's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rogier Weken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Wessel Velthuis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Laurens Mols got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Laurens Mols cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Sipke Driel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th match minute, Delta3 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Demy Latten to maneuver through the defense. If Henk Springelkamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Sipke Driel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurens Mols in the 59th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the game, Stefan Schaap was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Delta3's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sparta Rotterdam the free kick. In the 62nd match minute, Delta3 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Schaap to maneuver through the defense. Laurens Mols fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sipke Driel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurens Mols in the 70th minute of play forced Delta3's goalkeeper Sipke Driel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Delta3 booed when Sparta Rotterdam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gertjan de Graaf didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anthony Roordink was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 80th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Lucas Niekamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Delta3 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sparta Rotterdam.
