The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gert de Lange sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benjamin Gasteren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Giovanni Roodenburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert de Lange in the 10th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Calfven's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Gasteren came free, but Giovanni Roodenburg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Taco Oosterman struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Jan Douwes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calfven. With a little luck, Brandeburen's Jan Douwes got control of the ball when Taco Oosterman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brandeburen's Jan Douwes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Brandeburen from getting a goal against them. If Joeri Lembeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovanni Roodenburg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert de Lange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Douwes made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Taco Oosterman sent off a good shot on target. Marco Mans hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Hans-Cees Panter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Jan Douwes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gert de Lange's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovanni Roodenburg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Taco Oosterman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jan Douwes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joeri Lembeck in the 61st minute of play forced Brandeburen's goalkeeper Jan Douwes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Douwes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joeri Lembeck went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 70th minute Taco Oosterman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Douwes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Benjamin Gasteren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute of the match, Benjamin Gasteren tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giovanni Roodenburg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 75th match minute, Calfven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folker Maasland to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gert de Lange got free with Giovanni Roodenburg in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Calfven's Giovanni Roodenburg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Calfven from getting a goal against them. Benjamin Gasteren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Roodenburg having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gert de Lange in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovanni Roodenburg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Folker Maasland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jan Douwes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serge Saveneij kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After 97 played minutes Brandeburen got a freekick which was hit by Marco Mans. Joeri Lembeck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Jan Douwes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Calfven had won after a very even match.
